Dr. Neil Pemberton

Senior Research Associate

Neil‘s work draws upon approaches from history, animal studies, disability studies, medical humanities and historical ethnography. He has co-authored four books, many of which explore animal histories.  Currently, he is writing a book length account of the emergence of the guide dog human partnership. As part of this he is drawing upon approaches from visual anthropology to explore how film might be used to capture and communicate shared lives with animals.
